I used to think pampering myself was a luxury. I would use it is a treat to reward myself for good behavior like getting my taxes done or doing my laundry. But then I came to realize that pampering myself was actually a necessity.

I noticed that when I was taking good care of my body and treating it in a nurturing way, my self-esteem would increase. I would feel more confident and able to hold my ground when people or outside influences were trying to pull me off my path. I felt more in tune with my intuition and made choices from a place of deep visceral connection when my body felt taken care of.

I was thrilled to discover that my pampering myself was necessary in order for my feminine gifts to emerge. I could let go of any guilt about feeling overindulgent and embrace the importance of pampering as an act of self-empowerment. As women, our goddess energy becomes magnified when we feel beautiful and treasured.

Some of the pampering treats I enjoy are massages, facials, body scrubs, manicures, pedicures, bubble baths, foot soaks, and aromatherapy naps. I do a lot of these at home when I feel too tired to go out or want to conserve on cash.

I invite you to do one pampering thing for yourself each week and then stretch it to every day. Remember that when you are pampering yourself, you are honoring your inner Goddess and giving her the attention that she needs and deserves.
